Since the day I was born I knew that wonderful magical powers existed in this world. I knew about the leprechauns, the fairies and the pixies. I knew the wonder and excitement they brought to my mind and my heart. I knew about the pure delight I received in hearing about all their adventures and tales.

It has taken me all these many years to identify the one little leprechaun that has always been with me. From the day of my birth this little pixie has been peeking at me. With warm shining eyes, a mischievous grin and a loving bright smile. There is nothing more delightful than when a leprechaun smiles, but there is also nothing more sorrowful than leprechaun tears.

Oh, my leprechaun was very clever about disguising herself, and I probably would have never guessed her identity was it not for my mind, after all these years, finally figuring out where leprechauns really come from and how you qualify to become one.

Trust me on this no blarney involved. *grin*

Who knows maybe you will qualify too?!?

Qualifications for Becoming a Leprechaun:

Natural Life Cycle

You must experience the joys, wonders, blessings, sadness' and sorrows, all spectrums  of a human life. And after you have experienced all of this for a while, the leprechaun candidate's mind, heart and soul, must still know and embrace the positive in this world instead of the negative.

Shortness

You start out as a regular human, of course,  you  just remain shorter than most. I think it has something to do with the shrinking factor of humans -  you have to be 5' and under to qualify.  *laughing*  My little leprechaun will soon fit in someone's pocket, she more than qualifies!!

Stretching the Truth

Now this is where my little leprechaun really excels. Why she has even told people that she was at one time 4' 11"!  *chuckle*  If that is not stretching the truth more than a wee bit, I don't know what is!

Telling A Tale

Of course the gift of telling a tale is most essential, fiction or non-fiction, both mediums count. But I think you get bonus points if you can throw in a little blarney now and then. And super bonus points if you can throw it a lot! *grin*

A Trusting Soul

To balance on the side of trusting instead of being full of doubt. My little leprechaun demonstrated this by going up into a rickety old tree house built by her grandsons. She had faith that they're love for her and her love for them, would hold them all up. Even with some people, shaking their heads and yelling from the ground, "get down from there, you will kill yourself!" She got up, and stayed with her grandsons. That old tree house lasted a very long time! Think she cast a little leprechaun magic spell upon it. *smiles*

Also if you were born on a Friday the 13th and have always considered that a lucky day, you are a trusting soul! You are well on your way to becoming a little elfish delight!

Know and Practice the Leprechauns Prayer

Grant me a sense of humor,
The saving grace to see a joke,
To win some happiness from life,
And pass it on to other folk.

Natural Talent for Mischief and Devilment

A twinkle in the eye and a smile on the face. And that mysterious grin, that tells you, this little shanty (used with love and affection) Irish person is up to something.

Helpful Hints

It really helps if you are a candidate trying to qualify if your favorite color is green. Also if you truly believe that St. Patrick's Day should be  declared a national  holiday with everyone getting the day off for a special time of  joy,  laughter and merriment!  But please, do not make your family eat green mashed potatoes… Yuck! *grin*

A Pot of Gold

Gold in any form counts. So if you happen to come upon my little leprechaun's pot of gold, please do not take it away. For it is her heart.  You do not have to steal it, whether you are human, animal or plant, she would gladly just give it to you. *smiles*

I hope someday I become *chuckle* a leprechaun too!

Nothing more powerful than green Irish  guilt!  *grin*

May the Shamrocks always dance for you.
Bringing smiles, good luck and happiness to you.
