THE DANCE
Slide Show Patience Please

What do you do if you are an ostrich and your dance partner is running away? Well, you could run after her but she is really fast! Or you walk away from your finicky partner and wait for that weird looking species, that visits you almost every day, to come.

Look there she is now! Seems to me that she is late today, but never mind we have time for the dance! *Big Ostrich Smiles* Yes, here comes that strange looking species now. She must have lost her feathers or somebody plucked them all out! Poor little naked feathered thing, bet she gets cold! She is coming down from the hill now, shhhhhh quiet. I am going to act casual now. Make her work a little bit for the dancing. *Ostrich Grins*

There is the male ostrich, in the middle of the field. I hope he comes and dances with me again. WOW! What a privilege it was to dance with him! Maybe if I call again like I did before he will come over to me.

He is coming over! Hurrah! Please beautiful ostrich, dance again! Your dance is so very wonderful! Oh, I see she is ignoring you again today. She just does not know what she is missing! Oh, he is so very cute, he just keeps looking at me in a very strange way.

HE IS DOING IT! He is dancing again! Down low -- spreading out wings -- moving rhythmically -- side to side. BEAUTIFUL! Such magic! I should dance with him; it looks so inviting so peaceful, so tranquil!

*Ostrich Chuckles* Oh boy look at her! She does not have to go down very far like I do. Such a short species! How in the world does she see anything? But always she comes, she talks and she moves with me; we shall dance a little bit more. She seems to like it! Those are very scrawny things that she holds out as feathers, looks like a couple of sticks from a tree! But look how very happy she is; so very happy and delighted to dance with me. I like that! *Ostrich Smiles*

Oh how wonderful this is -- dancing with him -- down low -- my arms out -- his feathers spread wide -- each of us going -- side to side -- moving to a very special rhythm -- how graceful -- what wonderful magical charm.

Ohhh he got up -- we walk a little -- I plead -- again! WE DANCE! I have never before danced with an ostrich.. *Laughing* He is a very good dancer!

"Look it is Ms. Dolittle, she talks to the animals and they dance with her!"

Oh my gosh! I did not know they were there!

"How do you do that?"

Ostriches are friendly, they like people.

"Well I see they like us so much that one is now walking away."

*Ostrich Grin* That is enough dancing for today, to many people now. So that is what that species is called a dolittle? And I thought it was a jenny, I have heard her being called that name. Of course she calls me ostrich, someday maybe she will call me by name. Hope she comes again tomorrow! I really wish someone would give her her feathers back though. Then she would not have to dance with those stick things. Bye jenny thanks for the dance. *Ostrich Smiles*

*Big Smiles* How very special that is. What a wonderful path I am privileged to walk upon. Thank you Otto for such a wonderful dance! *Rolling My Eyes* So now they think I am a magical Ms. Dolittle who walks and talks and dances with the animals. *Chuckle* Dancing with an ostrich -- how very special life really is!
